The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has an overall score of 83.4, which is better than the Motorola Moto G5 Plus's 74.6 score. Motorola Edge 40 Pro is a notably newer and somewhat thinner phone than the Motorola Moto G5 Plus, but it's much heavier. Moto G5 Plus has a very superior performance than Motorola Edge 40 Pro, although it has 8 GB lesser RAM, they both have the same number of cores.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro counts with a bit more vivid display than Moto G5 Plus, because although it has a little inferior pixel count in each inch in the screen, it also counts with a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a larger display. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro counts with a much better camera than Motorola Moto G5 Plus, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not nice for low-light photos, it also counts with a much higher 7680x4320 video quality, a camera in the back with much more megapixels and a much bigger camera sensor which gives a much better photo and video quality.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro counts with a much greater memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Motorola Moto G5 Plus, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has a really longer battery lifetime than Moto G5 Plus, because it has a 4600mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.
