Galaxy Note8 is much better than Moto G5 Plus, with a score of 83 against 74.6. The Galaxy Note8 design is noticeably heavier but thinner than the Moto G5 Plus, and they were released only a couple months apart. Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a little sharper screen than Moto G5 Plus, because it has a larger screen, a little bit better screen pixels density and a lot higher 1440 x 2960px resolution.

Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a bit better performance than Moto G5 Plus, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 also has a greater amount of RAM memory. The Samsung Galaxy Note8 has a little bit more memory capacity for applications and games than Moto G5 Plus, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 also has a SD card slot that holds a maximum of 256 GB.

Galaxy Note8 features a bit better camera than Motorola Moto G5 Plus, although it has a tinier back camera sensor providing a worse image quality, they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the same resolution camera in the back, the same aperture and the same video frame rate. The Galaxy Note8 has a bit superior battery life than Moto G5 Plus, because it has 3300mAh of battery capacity.

Although Galaxy Note8 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Motorola Moto G5 Plus, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Motorola Moto G5 Plus. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Galaxy Note8, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Motorola Moto G5 Plus, giving up some features and specs.
