Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is slightly better than the Moto G5 Plus, with a overall score of 75.8 against 74.6. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro body is newer and somewhat thinner than Moto G5 Plus's, although it's also somewhat heavier. Motorola Moto G5 Plus counts with a bit sharper display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, because although it has a little smaller display and a quite lower 1080 x 1920px resolution, it also counts with a bit higher pixel number per inch in the screen.

The Motorola Moto G5 Plus has a little bit better performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, although it has less RAM, they both have the same number of cores. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro's memory capacity for apps and games is just as good as Motorola Moto G5 Plus's one, both of them have exactly the same internal storage capacity and an external memory slot that supports up to 128 GB.

Moto G5 Plus captures clearer photographs and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and although they both have a back camera with a 12 mega-pixels resolution, the Moto G5 Plus also has a way higher 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a much larger diafragm aperture. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro counts with greater battery lifetime than Moto G5 Plus, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity against 3000mAh.
