The Moto Z2 Play is a bit better than Motorola Moto G5S Plus, getting a 77.4 score against 74.8. Moto Z2 Play's construction is lighter and a lot thinner than the Motorola Moto G5S Plus, although they were released with only a couple months difference. Motorola Moto Z2 Play has a bit better processing unit than Motorola Moto G5S Plus. Both have a Octa-Core processor and a 4 GB RAM.
Moto Z2 Play has a screen that is just as good as the Moto G5S Plus one, both have a same size screen, a better pixel amount per inch of display and the same exact resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The Motorola Moto Z2 Play features a much bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Moto G5S Plus, and although they both have equal 64 GB internal memory capacity, the Motorola Moto Z2 Play also has an external memory slot that allows up to 1,95 TB.
Motorola Moto Z2 Play's battery duration is very similar to Motorola Moto G5S Plus's battery lifetime. Moto G5S Plus captures a bit better photos and videos than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not so good for low-light photos and videos, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same (4K) video resolution, the Moto G5S Plus also counts with a back camera with a higher resolution.
Although Moto Z2 Play is a better device, it costs more than Moto G5S Plus, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Moto G5S Plus. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy Moto G5S Plus, giving up a couple features, but you will get the most with your money.
