The Samsung Galaxy A40 has a global score of 79.6, which is a little bit better than the Moto G7 Plus's 76.1 general score. Even when the Samsung Galaxy A40 and Moto G7 Plus were released with only a few months difference, the Samsung Galaxy A40 is a lot lighter and a little bit thinner. These phones come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Samsung Galaxy A40 has newer 11 version and Moto G7 Plus has Android 10 version, so it provides a couple nice extra features and performance improvements.

Galaxy A40 counts with a slightly better looking screen than Moto G7 Plus, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a little bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2340 and a little greater pixel density. Galaxy A40 and Moto G7 Plus both have similar memory for games and applications, they have a SD card slot that admits up to 512 GB and equal 64 GB internal memory.

The Moto G7 Plus and the Galaxy A40 have quite similar processing units, both have a Octa-Core processor and the same RAM amount. Galaxy A40 counts with a bit better battery lifetime than Motorola Moto G7 Plus, because it has 3100mAh of battery capacity instead of 3000mAh. The Motorola Moto G7 Plus counts with a little bit better camera than Samsung Galaxy A40, and although they both have a camera in the back with a 16 mega-pixels and a same size diafragm aperture, the Motorola Moto G7 Plus also has a larger back camera sensor which offers a better image and video quality and a lot better video definition.
