The Sony Xperia 1 has an overall score of 82.6, which is a bit better than Motorola Moto G7 Plus's 76.1 global score. The Sony Xperia 1 construction is a little thinner but just a little heavier than the Motorola Moto G7 Plus, and they were released with only 4 months difference. Sony Xperia 1 features a better display than Moto G7 Plus, because it has a lot better 1644 x 3840 resolution, a way better screen pixel density and a quite larger display.

The Sony Xperia 1 counts with a bit better hardware performance than Moto G7 Plus, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Sony Xperia 1 also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The Xperia 1 features a much greater memory to store more apps and games than Moto G7 Plus, and although they both have a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB, the Xperia 1 also has 128 GB internal storage capacity.

Moto G7 Plus takes just a bit better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not good for shooting photos in low-light environments, and they both have a same size back-facing camera sensor and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Moto G7 Plus also counts with a lot more megapixels back-facing camera and higher video frame rates.

Xperia 1 features a bit better battery life than Motorola Moto G7 Plus, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity against 3000mAh.
