The Motorola Moto Z2 Play is a little bit better than the Moto G7, getting a overall score of 77.4 against 75.2. Even though the Motorola Moto Z2 Play is older than Moto G7, it's design is thinner and somewhat lighter. Motorola Moto Z2 Play features a screen that is just as good as the display in Moto G7, although the Motorola Moto Z2 Play has a quite worse count of pixels per inch in the display, a quite smaller display and a bit lower resolution of 1080 x 1920px.
Moto Z2 Play has much more memory capacity for applications and games than Moto G7, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Moto Z2 Play also has an external memory card slot that admits up to 1,95 TB. Moto Z2 Play counts with a bit superior CPU than Motorola Moto G7. They have 8 cores and 4 GB of RAM memory.
Moto G7 and Moto Z2 Play count with really similar batteries performance. The Moto Z2 Play has a camera that is just as good as the camera in Motorola Moto G7, and although the Moto Z2 Play has a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better images and videos in low-light environments, they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, a same resolution back facing camera and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality.
Although Moto Z2 Play is a better device, it costs a lot more than Moto G7, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Moto G7. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get the Moto G7, giving up a couple features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
