The Xperia 1 III is way better than the Moto G7, with a general score of 93.3 against 75.2. Xperia 1 III's body is much newer, but just a bit thicker and a little heavier than the Moto G7. Both of these phones use Android OS (operating system), but the Xperia 1 III has the previous 11 version and Moto G7 has Android 9.0 Pie.

The Xperia 1 III has a better display than Moto G7, because it has a much higher pixels count per inch of display, a bit bigger screen and a lot higher resolution of 1644 x 3840px. Xperia 1 III features just a little better performance than Motorola Moto G7, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xperia 1 III also has a larger amount of RAM.

The Sony Xperia 1 III takes much clearer pictures and videos than Moto G7, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and a 12 mega-pixels resolution camera, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has faster video frame rate and a larger diafragm aperture. The Xperia 1 III has a much bigger storage capacity to store more games and applications than Motorola Moto G7, because it has an external SD slot that admits up to 1 TB and 256 GB internal storage capacity.

Xperia 1 III counts with a way better battery performance than Motorola Moto G7, because it has a 50 percent greater battery capacity.

Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it is way more expensive than Motorola Moto G7, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Motorola Moto G7. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Motorola Moto G7, letting go a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
