Xperia 1 V has a general score of 82.7, which is a bit better than Moto G8 Plus's global score of 77.6. The Xperia 1 V is a way newer phone, and it's also a bit thinner and a little lighter than the Moto G8 Plus. Moto G8 Plus has an extremely better processor than Xperia 1 V, although it has 8 GB less RAM, they both have the same number of cores.

Xperia 1 V features a little bit better looking screen than Moto G8 Plus, because it has a much higher count of pixels per screen inch, a quite larger screen and a much better 1644 x 3840 resolution. The Sony Xperia 1 V captures a bit better pictures and videos than Motorola Moto G8 Plus, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is worse for shooting pictures and video in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same resolution camera in the back, the Sony Xperia 1 V also counts with a much bigger back-facing camera sensor capturing much better quality pictures and better 120 frames per second video frame rate.
