Galaxy A42 is better than Moto G8 Power, having a general score of 87 against 76. Both of these phones use Android OS (Operating System), but the Galaxy A42 has 11 version and Moto G8 Power has Android 10, so it counts with some additional features. Even though the Galaxy A42 and the Moto G8 Power were released with only a few months difference, the Galaxy A42 is somewhat thinner and just a little bit lighter.

Moto G8 Power features a much better looking display than Samsung Galaxy A42, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a way better 1080 x 2300 resolution and a better quantity of pixels per inch of screen. The Samsung Galaxy A42 features a much better memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Motorola Moto G8 Power, because it has more internal memory and an external SD slot that allows a maximum of 1000 GB.

Samsung Galaxy A42 has a little bit better hardware performance than Motorola Moto G8 Power. They have a 4 GB RAM memory and the same number of cores. The Galaxy A42 takes much better photos and videos than Motorola Moto G8 Power, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Galaxy A42 also counts with a back camera with lot more mega-pixels.

The Galaxy A42 features a battery lifetime that is very similar to the Moto G8 Power one.
