Both devices in this review use the same Android 10 operating system, so you shouldn't notice any difference in that aspect.
The Huawei P40 lite 5G features a much better screen than Moto G8, because it has a lot higher 1080 x 2400 resolution, a little larger screen and much more pixels per inch in the screen. The Huawei P40 lite 5G has just a bit better processing power than Motorola Moto G8, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Huawei P40 lite 5G also has more RAM.
The Motorola Moto G8 counts with a bigger memory capacity to install applications and games than Huawei P40 lite 5G, because although it has 0 less internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 512 GB. Moto G8 and Huawei P40 lite 5G have quite similar batteries performance.
The Huawei P40 lite 5G takes much clearer videos and photos than Motorola Moto G8, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Huawei P40 lite 5G also counts with a way higher 64 MP resolution back camera.
