Comparison review

LG G5 has a global score of 76.1, which is just a bit better than the Moto G8's 74.4 score. Both devices we are comparing work with Android operating system, but LG G5 has a newer 8.0 Oreo version while Moto G8 has Android 10 version. LG G5 is an noticeably older cellphone than the Moto G8, but LG made it thinner and somewhat lighter anyway.

LG G5 counts with a much better display than Motorola Moto G8, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a much higher number of pixels per screen inch and a way higher resolution of 1440 x 2560. The Moto G8 has a bit better processing unit than LG G5, and although they both have a 4 GB RAM, the Moto G8 also has a larger number of cores (although they are slower).

LG G5 counts with a little bit better memory capacity for applications and games than Moto G8, because although it has only 32 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with an external memory card slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB. The Moto G8 has a superior battery lifetime than LG G5, because it has a 43 percent bigger battery capacity.

LG G5 captures a bit better photographs and videos than Moto G8, although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not recommended for low light photography, they both have a same resolution back facing camera, the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate.

Although LG G5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Moto G8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Moto G8. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get the Moto G8, giving up some specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
