Comparison review
The Motorola Moto G9 Play is slightly better than Motorola Moto G8, getting a global score of 76.7 against 74.4. Both devices we are comparing come with the same Android 10 OS, so they should give all the same OS features. Although Motorola Moto G9 Play is a better phone than Motorola Moto G8, we must note that it is also a just a little thicker and a little heavier phone.
The Moto G8 and the Moto G9 Play feature very similar CPUs, both of them have a 4 GB RAM and a Octa-Core CPU. Motorola Moto G9 Play has a display that is very similar to the screen in Motorola Moto G8, although the Motorola Moto G9 Play also has a slightly higher 720 x 1600px resolution, a little bit bigger display and a just a little greater pixel density.
Moto G8 and Moto G9 Play both feature extremely similar storage capacity for applications and games, both have a slot for external memory cards that allows up to 512 GB and exactly the same internal memory. Motorola Moto G9 Play features a much better camera than Motorola Moto G8, and although they both have a F1.7 diafragm aperture and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition, the Motorola Moto G9 Play also has a much more MP back facing camera and faster 60 fps video frame rate.
Motorola Moto G9 Play counts with superior battery lifetime than Moto G8, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity against 4000mAh.
