Comparison review

The Xperia Z5 Premium has a score of 79.8, which is slightly better than the Moto G8's 74.4 overall score. The Xperia Z5 Premium design is a bit lighter and somewhat thinner than Moto G8, despite of the fact that it was released 5 years before. Both of these devices use Android OS (Operating System), but Xperia Z5 Premium has older 5.1 version and Moto G8 has Android 10 version.

Xperia Z5 Premium features a little better performance than Motorola Moto G8, because although it has lesser RAM, and they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with an extra graphics co-processor. The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features a much better looking display than Motorola Moto G8, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher resolution of 3840 x 2160px and a much higher display pixel density.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium captures clearer photos and videos than Motorola Moto G8, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not nice for taking images or videos in low-light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium also counts with a much more megapixels back-facing camera.

The Motorola Moto G8 features a very superior memory for applications and games than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has a SD card slot that admits up to 512 GB and 64 GB internal memory. Motorola Moto G8 has just a little bit longer battery duration than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.

Although Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more than Moto G8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Moto G8. So if you want that extra features, you can buy Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Moto G8, giving up some specs and features.
