The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is slightly better than the Motorola Moto G9 Play, with a 78.7 score against 76.7. Both phones in this review have Android OS (operating system), but the Huawei Mate 9 Pro has the newer 8.0 Oreo version and Motorola Moto G9 Play has Android 10 version. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro body is lighter and somewhat thinner than Motorola Moto G9 Play, despite of the fact that it was released many years before.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a much better screen than Motorola Moto G9 Play, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot better pixels count per inch in the screen and a much better resolution of 1440 x 2560. The Moto G9 Play has a greater memory capacity to store more games and applications than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has less internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that supports up to 512 GB.
Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a bit faster processing unit than Moto G9 Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has 2 GB more RAM memory. The Motorola Moto G9 Play counts with improved battery performance than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because it has a 25 percent greater battery capacity.
Moto G9 Play counts with a much better camera than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality, the Moto G9 Play also has higher video frame rate, a lot bigger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors, a back camera with lot more mega pixels and a lot larger diafragm aperture for better captures and video in low light environments.
