The Galaxy A31 has a global score of 81.3, which is slightly better than the Moto G9 Play's score of 76.7. Although Galaxy A31 and the Moto G9 Play were released only a couple months apart, Galaxy A31 is a little bit thinner and a bit lighter. Both phones in this review work with the same Android 10 OS (Operating System), so you shouldn't perceive any difference regarding OS features.
Galaxy A31's processor is just as good as the Moto G9 Play one, both have a Octa-Core CPU and a 4 GB RAM memory. Galaxy A31 has a more vivid screen than Motorola Moto G9 Play, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way higher 1080 x 2400 resolution and a lot more pixels per inch of display.
Galaxy A31 counts with as much memory capacity for apps and games as the Moto G9 Play, both have an external memory slot that allows up to 512 GB and exactly the same 64 GB internal storage. The Galaxy A31's battery lifetime is just as good as Motorola Moto G9 Play's battery life. The Motorola Moto G9 Play takes clearer photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy A31, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition and the same resolution back facing camera, the Motorola Moto G9 Play also has a larger camera aperture to take better low light photos, higher video frame rates and a larger back-facing camera sensor taking higher quality videos and photos.
