Comparison review

The Galaxy A40 is slightly better than the Moto G9 Play, getting a score of 79.6 against 76.7. Galaxy A40 is an older cellphone than Moto G9 Play, but Samsung could make it noticeably lighter and thinner. Both phones in this comparison include Android operating system, but Galaxy A40 has newer 11 version while Moto G9 Play has Android 10.

The Moto G9 Play features a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy A40. They have the same number of cores and a 4 GB RAM memory. The Samsung Galaxy A40 has a brighter display than Moto G9 Play, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a lot higher 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and a much greater pixel number per inch of display.

The Galaxy A40 and Motorola Moto G9 Play both feature very similar storage capacity for games and applications, both of them have a slot for an SD memory card that allows up to 512 GB and the same 64 GB internal storage. Motorola Moto G9 Play features a much better camera than Samsung Galaxy A40, and although they both have a same size camera aperture and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality, the Motorola Moto G9 Play also has a lot bigger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors, better 60 fps video frame rates and a back-facing camera with a way higher resolution.

Moto G9 Play features a much longer battery performance than Galaxy A40, because it has a 5000mAh battery size.
