Sony Xperia 1 II is better than the Moto G9 Play, having a 91 score against 76.7. Sony Xperia 1 II's design is just a little bit lighter and somewhat thinner than Moto G9 Play, even when both were released with only a couple of months difference. These devices work with Android OS, but Sony Xperia 1 II has a newer 11 version and Moto G9 Play has Android 10 version, so it provides some nice extra features.

The Xperia 1 II features just a bit better performance than Motorola Moto G9 Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 1 II also has a larger amount of RAM. Sony Xperia 1 II counts with a much sharper display than Moto G9 Play, and although they both have a screen with the same size, the Sony Xperia 1 II also has a lot higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels and a way higher display pixels density.

Sony Xperia 1 II features a much greater memory for games and applications than Moto G9 Play, because it has more internal storage and a SD extension slot that holds up to 1000 GB. Motorola Moto G9 Play features just a bit better camera than Xperia 1 II, and although they both have the same back-facing camera sensor size, a F1.7 camera aperture, the same (Full HD) video definition and the same 60 frames per second video frame rates, the Motorola Moto G9 Play also has a back camera with a lot better 48 MP resolution.

The Motorola Moto G9 Play has improved battery life than Xperia 1 II, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity.
