The Xperia XZ2 Compact is just a bit better than the Moto G9 Play, with a 79 score against 76.7. These phones have Android operating system, but Xperia XZ2 Compact has a newer 8.0 Oreo version while Moto G9 Play has Android 10 version. Xperia XZ2 Compact is an a lot older and extremely thicker phone than Moto G9 Play, but Sony was able to make it somewhat lighter anyway.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact counts with an incredibly better display than Motorola Moto G9 Play, because although it has a way smaller display, it also counts with a lot higher 1080 x 2160 resolution and a way better pixels count per inch of display. Xperia XZ2 Compact has a bit superior CPU than Moto G9 Play. Both have a Octa-Core processor and the same RAM memory amount.
Moto G9 Play shoots clearer photographs and videos than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, and although they both have the same 60 fps video frame rates and the same (Full HD) video quality, the Moto G9 Play also has a way more MP camera in the back, a larger diafragm aperture for better low light captures and videos and a way bigger sensor capturing way higher quality videos and pictures.
Motorola Moto G9 Play features a little bit better memory to store more apps and games than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, and although they both have the same internal memory, the Motorola Moto G9 Play also has an external memory card slot that holds up to 512 GB. The Motorola Moto G9 Play has a really longer battery duration than Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 74% bigger battery size.
