Google Nexus 6 is better than the Motorola Moto X (2014), we must note that it's also just a little thicker and noticeably heavier.

The Motorola Moto X (2014) features a little more vivid display than Google Nexus 6, although it has a just a bit less pixels per display inch, a lot worse resolution of 1920 x 1080px and a little smaller display. Google Nexus 6 features a very superior memory for apps and games than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has more internal storage capacity.

Google Nexus 6 has a little bit better processing power than Moto X (2014), and although they both have 4 CPU cores, the Google Nexus 6 also has a faster graphics processor running at 500 MHz and a greater amount of RAM memory. Google Nexus 6 and Moto X (2014) feature extremely similar cameras, and although the Google Nexus 6 has a larger diafragm aperture, they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates, a same resolution back-facing camera and the same 3840x2160 video definition.

The Google Nexus 6 counts with a very superior battery duration than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has 3220mAh of battery capacity instead of 2300mAh.

Although Google Nexus 6 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Moto X (2014), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Moto X (2014). If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy the Moto X (2014), giving up a few features and specifications, but you will get the most out of your money.
