Moto X (2014) features a little better hardware performance than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has 4 lesser cpu cores and a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with an additional GPU. Huawei Mate 8 features much more storage capacity to install applications and games than Moto X (2014), because it has 128 GB internal memory and a slot for an external memory card that holds up to 128 GB.
Huawei Mate 8 features a very superior battery life than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity. The Moto X (2014) takes a bit better photos and videos than Huawei Mate 8, because although it has a back camera with lesser megapixels resolution and a tinier camera aperture, it also counts with a much higher 3840x2160 (4K) video definition.
Although Huawei Mate 8 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Motorola Moto X (2014), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Motorola Moto X (2014). So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Huawei Mate 8, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Motorola Moto X (2014), resigning a couple features and specifications.
