The Moto Z3 Play has a score of 76.3, which is a bit better than Moto X (2014)'s 73.4 general score. Moto Z3 Play's design is way newer and incredibly thinner than the Moto X (2014)'s, but it is also just a little bit heavier. The Moto X (2014) has a brighter display than Motorola Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a bit lower 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a quite greater pixels count in each inch of screen.
The Motorola Moto X (2014) counts with just a little better hardware performance than Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM and less cores (although they are faster), it also counts with an extra graphics co-processor. The Motorola Moto Z3 Play features a little bit better camera than Motorola Moto X (2014), because although it has a back-facing camera with lesser mega pixels resolution and a worse video quality, it also counts with a way bigger camera aperture to capture better captures and video in poorly lited situations and a larger camera sensor capturing higher quality photos.
The Motorola Moto Z3 Play features a very superior memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Moto X (2014), because it has a slot for external memory cards that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB and 32 GB more internal storage. The Motorola Moto Z3 Play has greater battery life than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity.
Although Moto Z3 Play is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Moto X (2014), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Moto X (2014). So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Moto Z3 Play, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Moto X (2014), resigning some specifications.
