The Galaxy M40 is better than Moto X (2014), getting a overall score of 85 against 73.4. Both of these phones work with Android operating system, but Galaxy M40 has a newer 10 version while Moto X (2014) has Android 5.0. Galaxy M40's design is much newer and a lot thinner than the Moto X (2014)'s, but it is somewhat heavier.

Moto X (2014) counts with a little bit better hardware performance than Galaxy M40, because although it has less cores (although faster) and 4 GB lesser RAM memory, it also counts with a graphics processor. Motorola Moto X (2014) counts with a brighter screen than Galaxy M40, because although it has a little bit lower 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a bit higher count of pixels per inch of display.

Galaxy M40 shoots much better photos and videos than Moto X (2014), and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Galaxy M40 also has a much better 32 mega pixels resolution camera in the back, a bigger sensor providing a higher image quality and a lot bigger camera aperture to take better low light captures and video.

Galaxy M40 has a very superior memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has 96 GB more internal storage capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 512 GB. Samsung Galaxy M40 features a really longer battery duration than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has a 52 percent bigger battery size.
