The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a brighter screen than Moto X (2014), because it has a way higher 3840 x 2160px resolution, a bit bigger display and a much higher number of pixels per inch in the display. Sony Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a CPU that is very similar to the Moto X (2014) one, and although the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has 1 GB more RAM and a greater number of cores (although slower), they both have a 450 megahertz GPU.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a much better camera than Motorola Moto X (2014), and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium also has a back-facing camera with a lot higher 23 mega-pixels resolution, a much larger camera sensor which provides a lot better image and video quality and a bigger diafragm aperture for better captures and video in poorly lited environments.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features a superior battery life than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has a 3430mAh battery capacity against 2300mAh.

Although Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Moto X (2014), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Moto X (2014). So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, else you can save some money and get the Moto X (2014), resigning some features and specs.
