Comparison review

Sony Xperia 1 is much better than the Moto X4, with a global score of 82.6 against 74.4. Sony Xperia 1's construction is newer than Moto X4's, although it's just a bit heavier and a bit thicker. Xperia 1 counts with a better looking display than Motorola Moto X4, because it has a lot better resolution of 1644 x 3840 pixels, way more pixels per display inch and a bigger display.

The Sony Xperia 1 has a bit better processing power than Motorola Moto X4, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Sony Xperia 1 also has 3 GB more RAM. Sony Xperia 1 has a greater memory capacity for apps and games than Moto X4, because although it has a SD memory slot that admits a maximum of 512 GB against 1,95 TB, it also counts with more internal storage.

Motorola Moto X4 and Xperia 1 feature really similar cameras, because although the Xperia 1 has worse video frame rate and a smaller sensor capturing less light and washed colors, and they both have a back facing camera with a 12 mega pixels and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, it also counts with a bigger aperture for better low light images.

Sony Xperia 1 counts with a bit superior battery lifetime than Moto X4, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.

Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Motorola Moto X4, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Motorola Moto X4. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Xperia 1, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and buy the Motorola Moto X4, giving up a couple specs and features.
