Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is much better than Moto Z Play Droid, with a overall score of 82.2 against 71.8. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium's body is newer, but a lot heavier and incredibly thicker than Moto Z Play Droid. Xperia XZ2 Premium has a much more vibrant display than Moto Z Play Droid, because it has a quite larger screen, a lot higher count of pixels per inch of screen and a much better 2160 x 3840 resolution.

The Moto Z Play Droid has a better storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Xperia XZ2 Premium, because although it has less internal storage, it also counts with a SD memory card expansion slot that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a bit better performance than Moto Z Play Droid, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has more RAM.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium has a little better battery duration than Moto Z Play Droid, because it has a 3540mAh battery capacity instead of 3510mAh. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a little bit better camera than Moto Z Play Droid, and although they both have the same (4K) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a camera in the back with more MP and a bigger camera aperture to take better low-light captures.
