Huawei Mate X is much better than Moto Z, having a overall score of 89.4 against 74.5. The Huawei Mate X body is way newer, but way heavier and noticeably thicker than the Moto Z. These phones have Android operating system, but the Huawei Mate X has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Moto Z has Android 8.0 Oreo, giving you some additional features.

The Huawei Mate X has just a bit better hardware performance than Moto Z, because it has a greater number of cores and more RAM. Moto Z counts with a little more vivid display than Huawei Mate X, because although it has a little worse resolution of 1440 x 2560 and a lot smaller display, it also counts with a better pixels density.

The Motorola Moto Z features a bit better camera than Huawei Mate X, although it has a lot less mega pixels back-facing camera, they both have the same aperture. Huawei Mate X counts with a superior storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Motorola Moto Z, because although it has no external SD slot, it also counts with more internal memory capacity.

Huawei Mate X has a much better battery life than Moto Z, because it has a 73 percent larger battery size.

Although Huawei Mate X is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Motorola Moto Z, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Motorola Moto Z. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Huawei Mate X, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Motorola Moto Z, giving up some specs and features.
