Both phones in this review have Android OS (Operating System), but the LG G7 ThinQ has newer 9.0 Pie version and Moto Z has Android 8.0 Oreo, offering some additional features. The LG G7 ThinQ is a newer phone than the Moto Z, although it's somewhat heavier and noticeably thicker.
