The Motorola Edge 40 has a global score of 77.2, which is just a bit better than Moto Z's overall score of 74.5. Although Motorola Edge 40 is noticeably newer than Moto Z, it is heavier and much thicker. These phones come with Android OS (Operating System), but the Motorola Edge 40 has the older 13 version and Moto Z has Android 8.0 Oreo version.

The Motorola Edge 40 has a bit sharper display than Moto Z, because although it has a bit worse 1080 x 2400px resolution and a quite worse screen pixels density, it also counts with a bigger display. Motorola Moto Z has much more memory capacity to install applications and games than Motorola Edge 40, because although it has less internal storage capacity, it also counts with an external memory card slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB.

The Motorola Moto Z has a much more powerful CPU than Motorola Edge 40, although it has a lower number of cores (but faster) and lesser RAM memory.
