Huawei Mate 20 is a little bit better than Moto Z2 Play, getting a 79.5 score against 77.4. Huawei Mate 20's body is newer, but incredibly heavier and much thicker than Moto Z2 Play. Huawei Mate 20 features a little faster CPU than Moto Z2 Play. They have the same RAM memory amount and 8 cores. Huawei Mate 20 features a little more vivid display than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a little worse pixel density, it also counts with a larger screen and a quite better 1080 x 2244 resolution.
Huawei Mate 20 counts with a bit better camera than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, although it has a tinier aperture which is not good for low light photography and video, they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the same resolution camera in the back and the same video quality. The Motorola Moto Z2 Play features a much better memory capacity for apps and games than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has 0 less internal memory, it also counts with a slot for SD memory cards that admits up to 1,95 TB.
The Huawei Mate 20 has greater battery life than Moto Z2 Play, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.
Although Huawei Mate 20 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Moto Z2 Play. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy Moto Z2 Play, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
