Motorola Moto Z3 has an overall score of 77.6, which is a bit better than Moto Z2 Play's 77.4 global score. Motorola Moto Z3's design is newer than the Moto Z2 Play's, although it is a bit heavier and thicker. The Moto Z3 counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Motorola Moto Z2 Play. They have the same RAM memory amount and a Octa-Core CPU.
Motorola Moto Z3 counts with just a bit better screen than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because it has a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2160px, a just a little higher pixel density and a quite bigger display. Motorola Moto Z3 has a little bit better camera than Moto Z2 Play, although it has a smaller aperture which is not nice for low-light photography and videos, they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality, the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same resolution back camera.
The Moto Z3's memory capacity for games and applications is just as good as Moto Z2 Play's one, both of them have exactly the same internal storage and a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 1,95 TB. The Moto Z3 and Moto Z2 Play feature quite similar battery durations.
Although Moto Z3 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Moto Z2 Play. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy Moto Z2 Play, giving up a couple features, but you'll get the most with your savings.
