Sony Xperia 1 is a little bit better than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, getting an 82.6 score against 77.4. Sony Xperia 1's design is newer than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play's, although it is somewhat heavier and much thicker. The Xperia 1 counts with a bit superior processing unit than Moto Z2 Play, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Xperia 1 also has a higher amount of RAM.

The Xperia 1 features a sharper screen than Moto Z2 Play, because it has a bigger screen, a lot better screen pixel density and a much higher 1644 x 3840px resolution. The Moto Z2 Play has a bit bigger storage capacity to install games and applications than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has 0 less internal memory, it also counts with an external SD slot that holds up to 1,95 TB.

The Xperia 1 counts with a bit longer battery performance than Moto Z2 Play, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity instead of 3000mAh. The Xperia 1 counts with a slightly better camera than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has slower video frame rates, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and a back camera with a 12 MP resolution, the Xperia 1 also counts with a bigger aperture.

Although Xperia 1 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Motorola Moto Z2 Play. If you are trying to save some money, you can get Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and give up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
