Xperia XZ2 Premium has a score of 82.2, which is a bit better than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play's score of 77.4. The Xperia XZ2 Premium body is newer, but much thicker and way heavier than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play. Xperia XZ2 Premium has a bit better CPU than Moto Z2 Play, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a larger amount of RAM.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has a much sharper screen than Moto Z2 Play, because it has a much higher 2160 x 3840 resolution, a way higher screen density and a bit larger display. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a better camera than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a tinier aperture which is worse for shooting images or video in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium also counts with a back facing camera with way more mega pixels.

Moto Z2 Play features a much better storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xperia XZ2 Premium, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Moto Z2 Play also has an external memory slot that supports up to 1,95 TB. Xperia XZ2 Premium has greater battery duration than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because it has an 18 percent bigger battery capacity.

Although Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Motorola Moto Z2 Play. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, giving up a couple features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
