Sony Xperia Z5 is a little bit better than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, having a 77.6 score against 77.4. Sony Xperia Z5 is an older, just a bit heavier and thicker cellphone than Motorola Moto Z2 Play. Xperia Z5 has a bit more powerful processing unit than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM, and they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a GPU.

The Xperia Z5 counts with a better display than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a little bit smaller display, and they both have the same exact 1920 x 1080 resolution, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a just a bit higher amount of pixels in each inch of display. The Xperia Z5 takes much better videos and photos than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a way higher 23 mega pixels resolution back camera.

Moto Z2 Play counts with much more storage to store more games and applications than Xperia Z5, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that admits up to 1,95 TB and more internal memory capacity. The Motorola Moto Z2 Play has just a little bit longer battery duration than Xperia Z5, because it has a 3000mAh battery capacity against 2900mAh.

Although Xperia Z5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Moto Z2 Play. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Xperia Z5, but if you don't you can save some dollars and buy the Moto Z2 Play, resigning a couple features and specs.
