Xperia XZ2 Premium is a little bit better than Moto Z3 Play, getting an 82.2 score against 76.3. Xperia XZ2 Premium is an a lot heavier and noticeably thicker cellphone than Moto Z3 Play. Xperia XZ2 Premium features a little faster CPU than Moto Z3 Play, and although they both have 8 cores, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a higher amount of RAM memory.

Xperia XZ2 Premium features a lot better display than Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a much better quantity of pixels per inch in the display and a much higher 2160 x 3840 resolution. Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a bit better camera than Motorola Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not so good for capturing photographs or video in low light environments, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also counts with a way better resolution camera in the back and a larger back camera sensor shooting higher quality videos and pictures.

The Motorola Moto Z3 Play features a much better memory capacity for apps and games than Xperia XZ2 Premium, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Motorola Moto Z3 Play also has a slot for SD memory cards that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB. The Xperia XZ2 Premium has greater battery life than Moto Z3 Play, because it has a 3540mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.

Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Moto Z3 Play, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Moto Z3 Play. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy Moto Z3 Play, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
