Sony Xperia Z5 has a global score of 77.6, which is slightly better than the Moto Z3 Play's global score of 76.3. The Sony Xperia Z5 is a noticeably older and just a little bit thicker phone than Moto Z3 Play, but Sony could make it just a bit lighter anyway. The Sony Xperia Z5 has a more vivid display than Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a little smaller display and a bit lower resolution of 1920 x 1080, it also counts with a just a little greater amount of pixels in each display inch.

Moto Z3 Play counts with a much greater storage capacity to install games and applications than Xperia Z5, because it has an external memory card slot that allows up to 1,95 TB and more internal memory. The Xperia Z5 has just a bit better processing power than Moto Z3 Play, because although it has lesser RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia Z5 also counts with an extra graphics processing unit.

The Xperia Z5 has a little bit better camera than Motorola Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not nice for shooting photos or videos in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same (4K) video quality and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Xperia Z5 also counts with a way more mega-pixels camera in the back and a bigger sensor capturing more light and vivid colors.

The Motorola Moto Z3 Play features a bit superior battery duration than Xperia Z5, because it has 3000mAh of battery capacity.
