These devices have Android OS, but Motorola edge has the older 10 version while Moto Z3 has Android 9.0 Pie.

The Motorola edge and Motorola Moto Z3 both feature similar CPUs, and although the Motorola edge has 2 GB more RAM, they both have the same number of cores. Moto Z3 has a little more vivid screen than Motorola edge, because although it has a little bit smaller display and a quite lower 1080 x 2160 resolution, it also counts with a quite greater pixel density.

Motorola edge features a much bigger memory for apps and games than Moto Z3, because although it has an external SD slot that supports 1000 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal storage. Motorola edge has a way better battery performance than Motorola Moto Z3, because it has a 4500mAh battery size.

The Motorola edge takes way better photographs and videos than Moto Z3, and although they both have the same (4K) video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the Motorola edge also has a way larger camera sensor providing a much higher image quality, a bigger aperture for better images and videos in poorly lited situations and a back facing camera with a much better resolution.

The Motorola edge is way more expensive than the Moto Z3, but it's still a great choice, as you can get a much better phone for that extra money.
