Xperia Z5 Premium has a general score of 79.8, which is a bit better than the Motorola Moto Z3's 77.6 overall score. Xperia Z5 Premium's construction is older, somewhat heavier and somewhat thicker than the Motorola Moto Z3. Both of these phones use Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia Z5 Premium has older 5.1 version while Motorola Moto Z3 has Android 9.0 Pie version.

The Xperia Z5 Premium has a lot better display than Motorola Moto Z3, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a way greater number of pixels per screen inch and a way higher resolution of 3840 x 2160px. The Moto Z3 counts with a very superior memory for games and applications than Xperia Z5 Premium, because it has an external SD slot that supports up to 1,95 TB and 64 GB internal memory.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium and Motorola Moto Z3 feature incredibly similar processing units, because although the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have 8 CPU cores, it also counts with an additional graphics co-processor. The Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a superior camera than Moto Z3, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same video definition, the Xperia Z5 Premium also has a bigger diafragm aperture for better low light captures and videos, a camera with much more mega-pixels and a way larger sensor.

The Xperia Z5 Premium counts with a little better battery life than Motorola Moto Z3, because it has a 14% greater battery size.

Although Xperia Z5 Premium is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Moto Z3, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Moto Z3. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Xperia Z5 Premium, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Moto Z3, giving up some features and specs.
