Motorola One Zoom's construction is newer, but thicker and somewhat heavier than the Sony Xperia Z5. The Xperia Z5 features a sharper screen than Motorola One Zoom, because although it has a quite lower 1920 x 1080 resolution and a little smaller screen, it also counts with a bit higher count of pixels in each inch in the screen.

The Motorola One Zoom features a superior storage for apps and games than Xperia Z5, because although it has an external memory card slot that allows a maximum of 128 GB against 200 GB, it also counts with more internal storage capacity. The Sony Xperia Z5 has a little bit better processing power than Motorola One Zoom, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, and they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia Z5 also counts with an extra GPU.

Motorola One Zoom shoots just a bit better photos and videos than Xperia Z5, and although they both have the same (4K) video definition and the same 30 fps video frame rates, the Motorola One Zoom also has a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better images and videos in low-light environments, a camera with a much better resolution and a bigger back-facing camera sensor which gives a better photo and video quality.
