The Xperia 1 has a general score of 82.6, which is just a bit better than the Nokia 8 V 5G UW's 80.3 global score. Although the Xperia 1 is older than Nokia 8 V 5G UW, it's body is a lot lighter and a little bit thinner. The Xperia 1 has just a bit better performance than Nokia 8 V 5G UW. Both of them have a Octa-Core processing unit and a 6 GB RAM.

The Xperia 1 has a more vivid display than Nokia 8 V 5G UW, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a much better 1644 x 3840 resolution and a way better pixels amount per display inch. Xperia 1 has just a bit more storage capacity for apps and games than Nokia 8 V 5G UW, because although it has a SD memory slot that admits 488 GB smaller, it also counts with 64 GB more internal memory.

Nokia 8 V 5G UW has better battery performance than Sony Xperia 1, because it has a 35 percent bigger battery size. Nokia 8 V 5G UW takes much clearer photographs and videos than Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Nokia 8 V 5G UW also counts with a much bigger camera sensor shooting much higher quality pictures, a back camera with much more MP and better 60 frames per second video frame rate.

Although Sony Xperia 1 is a better device, it is more expensive than Nokia 8 V 5G UW, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Nokia 8 V 5G UW. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia 1, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Nokia 8 V 5G UW, giving up a couple features and specifications.
