Galaxy A40 is much better than the OnePlus 7T, getting a general score of 79.6 against 72.2. Both of these devices work with the same Android 11 OS, so you shouldn't notice any difference regarding that. Even when the Galaxy A40 and the OnePlus 7T were only released with a couple of months difference, the Galaxy A40 is notably lighter and just a little thinner.
OnePlus 7T and Samsung Galaxy A40 feature really similar displays, because although the Samsung Galaxy A40 has a little bit smaller screen and a little bit lower resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, it also counts with a quite higher count of pixels per display inch. Galaxy A40 features a better memory capacity for games and applications than OnePlus 7T, because although it has less internal storage, it also counts with a slot for an SD memory card that supports up to 512 GB.
The OnePlus 7T has just a little better processing power than Galaxy A40, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the OnePlus 7T also has more RAM memory. OnePlus 7T counts with better battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy A40, because it has a 23 percent bigger battery size. OnePlus 7T takes greater photographs and videos than Galaxy A40, because it has a back facing camera with way more mega-pixels, a way larger back camera sensor taking way higher quality videos and photographs, a much better 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and a bigger camera aperture for better low-light images.
