The Xiaomi Mi Max is slightly better than OnePlus 8 Pro, having a overall score of 77.5 against 77.2. The OnePlus 8 Pro has a lot better looking display than Xiaomi Mi Max, because it has a way better resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels, a quite bigger display and a higher display pixel density. The OnePlus 8 Pro has a way better camera than Xiaomi Mi Max, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the OnePlus 8 Pro also has higher video frame rates, a larger camera aperture and a lot better 48 megapixels resolution back-facing camera. The Xiaomi Mi Max counts with just a little better battery life than OnePlus 8 Pro, because it has a 4850mAh battery size instead of 4510mAh.
