Samsung Galaxy M40 is much better than OnePlus 9, having a score of 85 against 76. Samsung Galaxy M40 is an older phone than OnePlus 9, but Samsung managed to make it lighter and just a little bit thinner. These phones use Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy M40 has 10 version while OnePlus 9 has Android 11 version.
OnePlus 9 features a bit more vivid screen than Samsung Galaxy M40, because although it has a just a little lower display pixel density, it also counts with a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a quite larger screen. The Galaxy M40 counts with a much bigger memory for games and applications than OnePlus 9, and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Galaxy M40 also has a SD extension slot that allows a maximum of 512 GB.
The OnePlus 9 has a little faster processing unit than Galaxy M40, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the OnePlus 9 also has a larger amount of RAM memory. The OnePlus 9 counts with a better camera than Galaxy M40, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not so good for shooting photos and/or video in low light situations, it also counts with a way better 7680x4320 video resolution, a camera with a way higher 48 MP resolution and a much bigger sensor shooting lot higher quality videos and pictures.
The OnePlus 9 features better battery life than Samsung Galaxy M40, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity.
