Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy A42 has a general score of 87, which is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G's 84.6 score. Both of these devices use the same Android 11 operating system, so both of them should give all the same operating system features. The Samsung Galaxy A42 design is a little lighter and a bit thinner than the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G, although they were released with only a couple months difference.
Galaxy A22 5G counts with a much better display than Galaxy A42, and although they both have a same size display, the Galaxy A22 5G also has a better display density and a lot higher 1080 x 2400 resolution. The Samsung Galaxy A42 counts with more storage capacity to install games and applications than Galaxy A22 5G, because although it has a SD memory card expansion slot that allows 24 GB smaller, it also counts with 64 GB more internal storage capacity.
The Galaxy A42 and Galaxy A22 5G have really similar CPUs, both have a Octa-Core processor and the same RAM amount. Galaxy A42 captures clearer photos and videos than Galaxy A22 5G, and although they both have the same aperture and the same resolution back-facing camera, the Galaxy A42 also has a much higher (4K) video definition.
Galaxy A42's battery lifetime is just as good as the battery duration in Galaxy A22 5G.
