Google Pixel 4 XL is a bit better than Galaxy A31, with a general score of 82.9 against 81.3. Google Pixel 4 XL's body is a little bit thinner but a little heavier than the Galaxy A31, and both of them were released with only a couple of months difference. Google Pixel 4 XL counts with a bit better performance than Samsung Galaxy A31, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Google Pixel 4 XL also has a greater amount of RAM memory.
The Google Pixel 4 XL counts with a little sharper display than Samsung Galaxy A31, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, it also counts with a higher pixel count per inch of display and a higher 1440 x 3040px resolution.
