Comparison review
Galaxy M40 is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy A31, getting a overall score of 85 against 81.3. Although Galaxy M40 is older than Samsung Galaxy A31, it's construction is a bit thinner and a little lighter. These devices work with the same Android 10 operating system. The Galaxy M40 counts with a bit better hardware performance than Galaxy A31, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Galaxy M40 also has a larger amount of RAM.
Galaxy M40 features a display that is very similar to Galaxy A31's screen, although the Galaxy M40 has a little bit lower resolution of 1080 x 2340px, a little smaller display and a quite lower pixel density. Galaxy A31 takes a little bit better pictures and videos than Galaxy M40, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for taking photos and videos in low-light situations, and they both have the same (Full HD) video quality and the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, the Galaxy A31 also counts with a lot higher resolution camera in the back and a way larger sensor shooting much better quality videos and photos.
Samsung Galaxy M40 has a superior memory to store more games and applications than Samsung Galaxy A31, and although they both have a SD card slot that holds up to 512 GB, the Samsung Galaxy M40 also has 64 GB more internal storage. The Samsung Galaxy A31 has a much longer battery duration than Samsung Galaxy M40, because it has a 43% more battery capacity.
