Galaxy A40 is slightly better than HTC One M9, having a 79.6 score against 77.7. Both phones in this comparison use Android OS, but the Galaxy A40 has the newer 11 version while HTC One M9 has Android 5.0 version, giving a couple additional features and performance tweaks. The Galaxy A40 construction is notably newer, thinner and somewhat lighter than the HTC One M9.

The HTC One M9 features a quite better processing power than Galaxy A40, because although it has less RAM memory, and they both have a Octa-Core processor, the HTC One M9 also counts with an additional graphics processing unit and a 64-bit processor. The HTC One M9 counts with a much better display than Galaxy A40, because although it has a little bit smaller display and a bit lower 1920 x 1080 resolution, it also counts with a quite higher pixel density.

HTC One M9 shoots a bit better photographs and videos than Samsung Galaxy A40, because although it has a way smaller camera aperture which is not so good for taking photographs in poorly lited environments, it also counts with a camera in the back with a higher 20 mega-pixels resolution, a larger back camera sensor which offers a better image and video quality and a way better 3840x2160 video definition.

The Samsung Galaxy A40 features a way bigger storage to install games and applications than HTC One M9, because it has a slot for an SD memory card that admits up to 512 GB and 64 GB internal memory capacity. Galaxy A40 has a bit better battery life than HTC One M9, because it has a 9% greater battery size.
