The Galaxy A40 is a bit better than Moto Z3, with a 79.6 score against 77.6. Even though the Galaxy A40 and Moto Z3 were only released 8 months apart, the Galaxy A40 body is lighter but somewhat thicker than Moto Z3. Both phones we are comparing here work with Android operating system, but Galaxy A40 has the older 11 version while Moto Z3 has Android 9.0 Pie.

Motorola Moto Z3 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy A40. They have 8 processing cores and a 4 GB RAM memory. Galaxy A40 counts with a little more vivid display than Moto Z3, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a quite better number of pixels in each inch of display and a slightly better 1080 x 2340px resolution.

The Moto Z3 counts with a lot bigger storage for apps and games than Galaxy A40, and although they both have the same internal memory capacity, the Moto Z3 also has a SD memory slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB. The Samsung Galaxy A40 has just a bit longer battery duration than Motorola Moto Z3, because it has a 3100mAh battery capacity instead of 3000mAh.

The Motorola Moto Z3 takes clearer pictures and videos than Galaxy A40, because although it has a smaller back camera sensor capturing worse quality images, a much less mega-pixels resolution camera and a smaller aperture which is not favorable for low light photography, it also counts with a way better 3840x2160 (4K) video quality.
