Comparison review

Galaxy A40 has an overall score of 79.6, which is slightly better than the Galaxy XCover 5's general score of 78.1. Galaxy A40 is an older phone than Galaxy XCover 5, but it's somewhat thinner and somewhat lighter anyway. Both phones in our current comparison work with the same Android 11 OS (operating system), so you shouldn't perceive any differences regarding that.

The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 features a bit more powerful CPU than Galaxy A40. They have 8 cpu cores and the same RAM memory amount. The Galaxy A40 counts with a bit better display than Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a much higher 1080 x 2340 resolution, a quite bigger screen and a greater display density.

Galaxy XCover 5 features more storage capacity to store more apps and games than Samsung Galaxy A40, and although they both have the same internal memory, the Galaxy XCover 5 also has a slot for an external memory card that allows a maximum of 1 TB. Samsung Galaxy A40 features just a little bit longer battery performance than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, because it has a 3% larger battery size.

The Galaxy A40 shoots clearer photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate, the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video quality and the same resolution back facing camera, the Galaxy A40 also has a larger aperture.
