Although the Sony Xperia 5 III is incredibly newer than Galaxy A40, it's heavier and a little thicker. The Sony Xperia 5 III features just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy A40, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Sony Xperia 5 III also has more RAM memory.
Xperia 5 III has a bit better display than Samsung Galaxy A40, because it has a just a little greater screen density, a little bit larger display and a quite better 1080 x 2520 resolution. Xperia 5 III features a way bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Galaxy A40, because it has a slot for an external memory card that supports up to 1 TB and 256 GB internal memory.
Xperia 5 III features a better camera than Samsung Galaxy A40, because although it has a much lower resolution back facing camera, and they both have a F1.7 camera aperture, the Xperia 5 III also counts with a way better video definition and a lot larger back-facing camera sensor providing a much better image quality.
